Where to eat in Las Vegas – Hussongs Cantina

📍 Hussongs Cantina, The Shoppes at Mandalay Palace

We absolutely love Mexican food here at The London Food edit, and we’ve had some amazing Mexican treats all over the world, But Hussongs Cantina is exceptional and a restaurant we’ll always come back to!

Hussongs should absolutely be on your list of restaurants to visit in Las Vegas. A fantastic sports bar for one with a buzzing atmosphere, it’s always full of locals which is a good sign! You’ll have to book as this place is always busy! It’s the home of the original margarita – each time I’ve been here it’s either been Happy Hour or I’ve had a pitcher to myself, IT’S THAT GOOD! And, it’s some of the best, most inexpensive Mexican food I’ve had in the world!

The menu is packed full of Mexican classics. Their handmade guacamole is ridiculous and so tasty! I’d highly recommend trying the Mango Habanero variation for a sweet dose of spicy goodness!

Fish tacos are my absolute favourite, and I make a point of having them wherever I can if they are on the menu – and these – Fresh flaky white Baja fish with a smooth avodaco sauce, a spicy chipotle aioli and fresh greens are tacos I’ll never forget! So good I probably could have eaten another plates worth!

The Burritos and Chimichangas are also fantastic and packed fat with loads of filling, the feel truly authentic, and you’ll be absolutely stuff afterwards.

If you can get in here between 3PM and 6PM they have happy hour specials. Buckets of beer, the best margaritas and bottomless mimosas will keep you hydrated and will wash down Tacos, the most moreish Tot-Chos (think loaded to the brim nachos but with tator tots instead!) fully loaded potato skins and our favourite – the carnitas sliders! The food is all around $5.00 for a plate during Happy Hour and the cocktails range from $4.00 to $20.00 for your bucket of beers!

You absolutely CANNOT go wrong with Hussongs, whether for lunch, a snack, some Happy Hour fun or a fantastic value for money dinner! It’s some of the best authentic, ridiculously tasty Mexican food we’ve had, and we’ll definitely be back!
