Oak On The Green, Bearsted

📍 Oak on the Green, Bearsted.

Possibly one of the most picturesque little villages near Maidstone and with Leeds Castle a short 10 minute drive away. Bearsted is a short 40 minute train journey out of the city providing peace and quiet, beautiful nature walks and fantastic local pubs and restaurants. Oak on the Green offers a full lunch menu to boot as well as fresh made, homely, warming dinners.

Oak on the Green is the best of the bunch in the village – The name says it all, perched on the edge of the green, this pub is by far the stand out place to eat when visiting! A beautiful pub itself, which has stood there since 1665, gives a warm and welcoming feel as soon as you walk in, full of locals, dog friendly, staff who are always on the go and incredibly helpful, and boasting a menu using largely local produce, I couldn’t recommend a visit more!

The food is absolutely delicious! An extensive menu, but well put together, I guarantee there’s something on here for everyone – great for larger parties and catering to vegetarians and vegans easily! The steak is always beautifully cooked, and exactly how you ask for it. Burgers that will leave you full to the brim but are so tasty you’ve got to have just one more bite! Fantastic value for money if I’ve not already mentioned it – the very generous portions will make sure you don’t leave hungry! If you can fit a dessert in after all the food, you absolutely won’t be disappointed – but you may be waddling out of here!

If you’re coming on the weekend make sure to book, the locals know this is the place to be so its often very busy Friday and Saturday evenings and all day Sunday – testament really to how fantastic this little pub really is! We’ll absolutely be back for more – how could we not!
