Where to eat in Tulum – La Zebra

📍 La Zebra, Beach Road, Tulum, Mexico

Here we are again, hunting for Tacos and Margaritas!

We stumbled across La Zebra after wandering around the beach road and boy were we glad to find it! We took shelter from the hot midday sun in this gorgeous beach bar. Think rustic wooden floors, brightly coloured pictures, hand painted tables, great music and plenty of people! The actual restaurant is open on all sides and looking out over the ocean, so there’s a lovely breeze to cool you down while you sip your cocktails!

Hand made Guacamole! YES PLEASE!

I finally got some fish tacos! These were absolutely delicious! Served in three handmade flavoured tortillas with lovely crunchy battered white fish, shredded cabbage and carrot, pickled onion and a punchy Chipotle aioli. Teamed with the Guacamole and some chips on the side for dipping they were just perfect and surprisingly filling. So much fish in there too, I could just about wrap the tortilla around it! There’s plenty of other tacos to choose from at La Zebra – Beer Battered Shrimp, Shrimp and Octopus, Rib Eye Steak, Grilled Chicken and a gorgeous vegetarian option with Poblano peppers, corn and cauliflower tempura – my eyes are on this for our next visit!

The cocktail menu is extensive and really reasonably priced! But we were here for the Margaritas, and with six different varieties to choose from I’m sure you’ll have more than one just like we did! Mango and Watermelon margaritas were fruity and refreshing, the Mezcal margaritas had a real depth and sweetness to them, and the Margarita Tortuga with fresh cucumber was just the thing to finish our meal – absolutely stay and do what we did – take in the sights, do some people watching and catch some shade with beautiful view out to the ocean!

If you’re after authentic Tacos and Margaritas with a buzzy beach club atmosphere – La Zebra is the place for you!
